Stephanie DeWaters is the Program Coordinator for the Sink Your Shucks™ oyster recycling program, working with the Coastal Conservation & Restoration Laboratory team.

She earned her B.B.A. in Marketing from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and has been actively engaged in the Coastal Bend community for over 13 years, creating large-scale events, marketing campaigns, nonprofit initiatives, and public relations efforts. Most recently, Stephanie has focused on the Texas oyster farming industry, supporting coastal conservation and cleanup initiatives and fundraising for sea turtle rehabilitation.

In her role with Sink Your Shucks™, Stephanie collaborates with local businesses to expand the program, facilitates educational outreach for communities and schools, and organizes restoration-based events to encourage public involvement. She is most passionate about raising awareness of the significant impact a single oyster shell can have on marine ecosystems.

During her free time, she enjoys traveling to coastal regions across the U.S. and Central America, paddleboarding and fishing in the Laguna Madre, and spending time on Texas beaches.
