Clean Coast Texas Collaborative
Coastal communities face an elevated risk of water quality degradation, habitat loss, storm surge damage, flooding, and natural disasters. Smaller communities are even more at risk as they often lack technical and financial resources to develop the policies, plans, and critical infrastructure needed to manage economic and environmental risks associated with coastal hazards. The Clean Coast Texas Collaborative is a primary initiative of the Texas Coastal Nonpoint Source (NPS) Pollution Control Program.
The Project Team will continue working with coastal communities to achieve their economic, ecological and public health goals by assisting in the development and implementation of comprehensive approaches and best practices for stormwater and floodplain planning and management, local/regional policy development and adoption, on-site sewage facilities maintenance and funding strategies, and environmental outreach and education to support the adoption of the Texas Coastal NPS Program. The outcome of this project is to work with coastal communities to mitigate the ecological and economical loss from environmental hazards.
